Neutraza was born to solve a concrete problem: Brazil has millions of hectares protected by law, and almost no return for those who actually protect them.

How it started
In 2024, Henrique tried the obvious: making his own Legal Reserve pay for itself.
He ran into the same barriers that block any landowner trying to enter the environmental credits market, starting with the money. Certifying an area under that model requires paying up front, with a return that can take years.
That frustration is where the question that became Neutraza came from:
Why is there so much investment to reforest and restore degraded land, and so little to pay those who already keep a native forest standing?
On one side, society chases reforestation and the restoration of degraded land. Necessary, but slow and expensive.
On the other, millions of hectares of Legal Reserve are already preserved, but bring the owner no income at all. In practice, preserving still costs money out of pocket — and that is one of the reasons conservation does not advance as it could.
Energy is spent recovering what has already been lost, while the forest that already exists stays unprotected.
Neutraza was born to settle that tug of war: direct payment, without red tape, for those who already keep native forest standing, connecting the forest to whoever is helping protect it.
There is nothing like what Neutraza offers, an economic infrastructure between those who preserve and those who want to fund that preservation.

What makes Neutraza different?
Neutraza set out to create an economic incentive that did not exist before.
A Legal Reserve may well have legal protection, but who bears that cost? Land tied up, upkeep, surveillance, among others.
The owner now has financial reasons to conserve, monitor and show that the area remains protected. The investor, in turn, stops investing in a generic promise and starts supporting a real, identifiable area, with a location and verifiable evidence.
What Neutraza actually does:
create a mechanism so that conserving native forest is not only an obligation, but something sustainable for the Guardian and transparent for whoever supports it.
And that incentive comes with contractual commitments, identification of the area, monitoring and verification. Conservation stops being just paperwork and becomes a verifiable partnership between whoever conserves and whoever adopts the forest.

The founder
Someone who knows first-hand both the reality of those who produce and that of those who preserve nature.
Henrique Cardoso
He was born into farming and still makes his living from it. He grew up inside the reality of the Brazilian rural property, and that is what defines how Neutraza treats the Guardian: as a partner, not as the supplier of an environmental commodity.
Today, he is the one running the operation and he goes with you from start to finish.
This is not the first time he has brought technology from abroad to scale in Brazil. In 2005, he brought over Next IT, a US company that pioneered artificial intelligence applied to customer service, later acquired by Verint.
At the head of Neutraza, he combines satellites, CAR and automated verification to make viable, at scale, something that today takes a great deal of manual work.

Evidence
Every environmental claim we make has to be independently verifiable: satellite, CAR and field audit.
Direct payment
What the buyer pays reaches the Guardian without a chain of middlemen diluting the incentive.
Additionality
We did not create the forest. We created the economic reason for it to stay preserved, with security, monitoring and audit.
Legal validation
Everything within the law and current regulations, grounded in Law 14.119/2021, Brazil's National Policy on Payment for Environmental Services.
The thesis is simple
